i hate how saying you're 'into history' is basically a dogwhistle now

@spookcentral when someone says they're "into history" one of two things happen:

- i am introduced to an amazing and nuanced historical perspective, such as a detailed discussion of the prices of cats in the middle ages
- i am cursed with a paraphrased youtube series


other guys: if germany had just stayed out of russia they probably could have won world war two :(

me *infodumping furiously about the caloric intake of monks*



the average monk ate about 6000 calories a day and would drink about two liters of beer


it was more common for monks in the middle ages to die of obesity-related ailments than of starvation
